Indications And Clinical Uses:

A nutritionally complete ready-flavored, ready-to-use peptide-based elemental oral or tube feeding formula specially designed for the dietary management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease and for those who have difficulty digesting and absorbing nutrients.:

Dosage and Administration:

As prescribed by a physician. Tube feeding may be initiated at full strength (30 kcal/30 mL) or diluted 1:1 with water, based on patient’s condition. If diluted, concentration should be increased as tolerated to full strength to achieve prescribed nutrient intake. The patient’s fluid needs should be monitored and additional water given as needed. Administration via infusion pump is suggested. Bedside reservoir hang time for Subdue should not exceed 6 to 8 hours. Liquid should be covered, refrigerated and used within 48 hours.

Availability And Storage:

A readily absorbable fat blend made up of 50% medium chain triglycerides makes Subdue appropriate for the total nutritional support of patients with fat malabsorption. It provides 100% Canadian adult RNI for all vitamins and minerals in 1 420 mL. Each can of formula contains: water, maltodextrin, whey protein hydrolysate, fractionated coconut oil, modified cornstarch, canola oil, chicory oligofructose, salt, choline, chloride, L-carnitine, taurine, corn syrup solids, corn oil, and essential vitamins and minerals.
