Indications And Clinical Uses: For the treatment of infestations with head lice (P. capitis), body lice (P. corporis), crab lice (P. pubis) and their nits.

Contra-Indications: Should not be used by persons allergic to chrysanthemum, pyrethrin or synthetic pyrethroids.

Precautions: For external use only. Harmful if swallowed. It should not be inhaled. During shampooing, contact should be avoided with eyelashes, eyes, nose and mouth and other mucous areas. If contact does take place, flush with water.

A physician should be consulted if accidental ingestion should occur. If physician not available drink 1 or 2 glasses of water and induce vomiting. No attempt should be made to induce vomiting with an unconscious person. The patient should be exposed to air.

In case of infection or skin irritation, discontinue use and consult a physician. Consult a physician if an infestation of lice to eyebrows or eyelashes occurs. Destroy container when empty.

Dosage And Administration: To the dry hair, apply sufficient shampoo to thoroughly soak the hair and the skin of the infested and adjacent hairy areas. Allow the shampoo/conditioner to remain on the area for 10 minutes. Add small quantities of water, working the shampoo/conditioner into the hair and skin until a lather forms. Rinse thoroughly. The dead lice and their nits should be removed with the inpacked nit comb. Repeat in 7 to 10 days if necessary. Do not exceed 2 consecutive applications within 24 hours.

Lice infestations are spread by contact. Each family member should be examined carefully. If infested, they should be treated immediately to prevent the spread of the infestation or cause a reinfestation with previously treated family members. All contaminated clothing and other articles such as combs, brushes, hats, etc. should be dry cleaned or washed in very hot water. Upholstery, carpets and other areas where lice may linger and cause a reinfestation should be sprayed with R & C II Spray Insecticide.

Availability And Storage: Each plastic bottle contains: pyrethrins 0.33%; piperonyl butoxide technical 3.0% (equivalent to 2.4% active piperonyl butoxide and 0.6% related compounds). Nonmedicinal ingredients: fragrance, isocetyl alcohol, isopropanol, lavramine oxide, laureth-4, laureth-23, petroleum hydrocarbon, triethanolamine lauryl sulfate, water. Plastic bottles of 50 and 200 mL, each with a nit comb.
