Indications And Clinical Uses: The prevention and treatment of infection in minor skin breaks caused by cuts, scratches, burns and other injuries.

Contra-Indications: Neomycin sensitivity.

Precautions: Articles in current medical literature indicate an increase in the incidence of patients sensitive to neomycin. The possibility of such a reaction should be borne in mind. Discontinue use if sensitization occurs. As with any antibiotic product, overgrowth by resistant organisms may occur, particularly monilia. If this occurs, discontinue treatment and institute appropriate measures.

Dosage: Apply to affected area once or twice daily.

Availability And Storage: Each g of ointment contains: neomycin sulfate 5 mg (0.5%) (equivalent to 3.5 mg neomycin base) in wool fat, mineral oil and white petrolatum. Tubes of 25 g.
