Indications And Clinical Uses: Specifically for symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal discomfort due to entrapped gas. Relief of infant colic.

Symptoms And Treatment Of Overdose: Symptoms and Treatment: Treatment symptomatic.

Dosage And Administration: Drops: Infants, 0.25 to 0.50 mL with or after each meal. May be added to formula or given directly from dropper. Maximum: 6 mL/24 hours.

Tablets: Adults: 40 mg (2 tablets, 4 times daily), 80 mg (1 or 2 tablets, 4 times daily); 160 mg (1 tablet, 4 times daily).

Availability And Storage: Drops: Each mL of white, opaque, peppermint flavored suspension with a milky appearance contains: simethicone 40 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: aluminum magnesium silicate, cellulose, citric acid, flavor, hydrogen peroxide, parabens, polyoxyl 8 stearate and sucrose. pH: 5.9 to 7.5. Energy: 1.2 kJ (0.3 kcal). Sodium:
Tablets: Ovol-40: Each white, round, flat, peppermint-flavored chewable tablet with beveled edges, bisected on one side, contains: simethicone 40 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cellulose, flavor, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, sucrose and talc. Energy: 6.7 kJ (1.6 kcal). Sodium:
Ovol-80: Each white, round, flat, peppermint-flavored chewable tablet with beveled edges, quadrisected on both sides, contains: simethicone 80 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cellulose, flavor, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, sucrose and talc. Energy: 13.4 kJ (3.2 kcal). Sodium:
Ovol-160: Each white, round, flat, cherry-flavored chewable tablet with beveled edges, bisected on one side, engraved Ovol-160 on the other, contains: simethicone 160 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: aluminum hydroxide, aspartame, cellulose, citric acid, flavor, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, sucrose and talc. Energy: 10.3 kJ (2.46 kcal). Sodium:
