Antitussive – Expectorant – Decongestant

Indications And Clinical Uses: In adults, to facilitate expectoration and control cough associated with inflamed mucosa and tenacious sputum which does not respond to products of lesser potency.

Contraindications, Precautions, Adverse Effects 

Guaifenesin has been shown to produce a color interference with certain clinical laboratory determinations of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA).

Dosage: Adults and children over 12 years: 5 mL every 4 hours.

Availability And Storage: Each 5 mL of amber, mixed fruit flavored liquid contains: phenylephrine HCl 20 mg, hydrocodone bitartrate 5 mg and guaifenesin 200 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: artificial flavor, citric acid, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Yellow #6, glucose, glycerin, menthol, natural cherry flavor, propylene glycol, purified water, Red #2, sodium benzoate, sodium chloride, sodium citrate and sodium cyclamate. Alcohol- and sucrose-free. Bottles of 100 mL.

Do not refrigerate. Crystals of guaifenesin may form if product is subjected to cold temperatures. On warming, crystals will slowly dissolve.
