Indications And Clinical Uses: Formula for feeding infants or children with a sensitivity to cow milk protein or a family history of allergies. Symptoms that may require a milk-free source of nutrition include the following: persistent and unexplained eczema, diarrhea, non-specific respiratory disorders, spitting up, and irritability. May be used for adults with food allergies.

Precautions: Opened or prepared formula should be refrigerated or used within 24 to 48 hours. Opened powder formula should be stored in a cool dry place and used within 30 days.

Dosage And Administration: Home: Feed as an 84 kJ (20 kcal)/30 mL formula in sufficient quantity to satisfy the hunger and nutritional needs of the infant. Dilution: Equal amounts of ProSobee concentrated liquid and water. 1 scoop of ProSobee powder/60 mL of water.

Hospital: Feedings may be used as an 84 kJ (20 kcal)/30 mL formula, or, if more dilute feedings are desired, they may be prepared as follows: 2 parts liquid to 1 part water, energy: 54.6 kJ (13 kcal)/30 mL. 4 parts liquid to 1 part water, energy: 67.2 (16 kcal)/30 mL.

Either terminal heating or aseptic method of formula preparation may be used in preparing feedings for infants.

Availability And Storage: Liquid: Hypoallergenic formula made from soy protein isolate, palm olein oil, soy oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, glucose polymers and added vitamins and minerals (including iron).

Powder: Hypoallergenic formula from glucose polymers, soy protein isolate, palm olein oil, soy oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil and added vitamins and minerals (including iron).

Milk-like in appearance and consistency. Each 100 mL supplies 285.6 kJ (68 kcal); each 30 mL supplies 84 kJ (20 kcal). Lactose- and sucrose-free. Available in concentrated liquid in 385 mL cans and in Ready to Use 235 and 945 mL cans and powder in 400 g cans, with measure. Also available, for hospitals: presterilized disposable Nursette bottles, energy: 84 kJ (20 kcal)/30 mL: 100 mL.
