Anorectal Therapy

Indications And Clinical Uses: Symptomatic relief of pain and discomfort as in: external and internal hemorrhoids, proctitis, papillitis, cryptitis, fissures, incomplete fistulas and relief of local pain following anorectal surgery.

Contra-Indications: History of sensitivity to any component.

Precautions: In case of rectal bleeding, consult physician promptly.

Adverse Reactions: An occasional patient may experience burning upon application, especially if the anoderm is not intact. Discontinue medication if irritation or sensitivity is suspected.

Dosage And Administration: Ointment: Bathe and dry the affected anal area. Apply ointment freely to the affected area every 4 hours or as needed and after each bowel movement.

Suppositories: Bathe and dry the affected anal area. Insert 1 suppository morning and evening and after each bowel movement.

Availability And Storage: Anusol: Ointment: A smooth, colorless, translucent ointment contains: zinc sulfate monohydrate 0.5%. Nonmedicinal ingredients: calcium phosphate, mineral oil, oleth-2, parabens and petrolatum. Tubes of 30 g with applicator. Store in a cool place under 22°C.

Suppositories: Each white, opaque suppository contains: zinc sulfate monohydrate 10 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: calcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, parabens and vegetable oil. Boxes of 12 and 24. Store in a cool place under 22°C.

Anusol Plus: Ointment: Each tube of smooth, colorless, translucent ointment contains: pramoxine HCl 1% and zinc sulfate monohydrate 0.5%. Nonmedicinal ingredients: calcium phosphate, mineral oil, oleth-2, parabens and petrolatum. Tubes of 30 g with applicator. Store in a cool place under 22°C.
