Pipradrol – Vitamin Compound

Indications And Clinical Uses: Short-term use in cases of vitamin B deficiencies accompanied by functional fatigue.

Contra-Indications: As with other drugs with CNS stimulating action, pipradrol is contraindicated in hyperactive, agitated, or anxious patients and depressive illness, chorea, or obsessive compulsive states.

Precautions: Pregnancy: Although animal reproductive studies have not indicated adverse effects, this drug should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy unless in the opinion of the prescribing physician, the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks.

Dependence Potential: As with other CNS stimulant with dependence potential, pipradrol should not be administered for long periods, or given to patients who are prone to drug dependence.

Adverse Reactions: CNS stimulation reported as agitation, insomnia, excitement, and irritability; allergic reactions usually related to the skin such as urticaria, rash, itching, and erythema; gastrointestinal disturbances manifested by gastritis, vomiting, nausea, abdominal distress, diarrhea, and constipation.

Excessive overdosing has occurred in a few instances with severe reactions related to CNS stimulation and gastrointestinal disturbances.

Dosage: Adults, 15 mL 3 times daily 30 minutes before meals for limited periods only.

Availability And Storage: Each 45 mL of red liquid contains: alcohol 15%, pipradrol HCl 2 mg, thiamine HCl 10 mg, riboflavin 5 mg, pyridoxine HCl 1.9 mg, niacinamide 50 mg, choline 100 mg, inositol 100 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: alcohol, artificial date flavor, butylparaben, caramel flavor, cherry flavor, dextrose, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Red #2, fructose, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide and sorbitol. Energy: 32 kJ (7.7 kcal)/15 mL.
