|Indications And Clinical Uses: As a supplement or as a tube feeding, recommended whenever protein needs are increased and energy requirements are moderate. Meritene Powder provides 18 g protein and 275 kcal (1 150 kJ)/serving.

Dosage And Administration: Oral: As a supplement with or between meals: 1 to 3 servings daily, 1 150 to 3 450 kJ (275 to 825 kcal), 18 g protein to 54 g protein. When used as the sole daily feeding: should be administered to meet individual nutrition requirements; 1 040 mL or 4 600 kJ (4 servings of 32.4 g Meritene powder in 240 mL whole milk or 1 100 kcal) provides at least 100% of the Canadian RNI (adult males, 25 to 49) for protein and essential vitamins and minerals.
Tube Feeding: Follow a physician's or dietitian's directions. When initiating feeding, the flow rate, volume and dilution are dependent on patient tolerance. Care should be taken to avoid contamination of this product during preparation and administration. Additional fluid requirements should be met by giving water orally with or after feedings, or when flushing the feeding tube.
Availability And Storage: Each 32.4 g contains: skim milk powder, corn syrup solids, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, magnesium sulfate, ascorbic acid, natural and artificial vanilla flavor, soy lecithin, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, alpha tocopheryl acetate, niacinamide, copper gluconate, manganese sulfate, D-calcium pantothenate, vitamin A palmitate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine hydrochloride, folic acid, BHA (to preserve freshness), biotin, vitamin K1, choline bitartrate, tricalcium phosphate, potassium iodide, riboflavin, cyanocobalamin.

Meritene has a calorie-to-nitrogen ratio of 96:1. Gluten-free.
