Indications And Clinical Uses: Glucose tolerance test.

Contra-Indications: In patients with the glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.

Precautions: Dextrose should be administered with care to patients with diabetes insipidus.

Drug Interactions: Purgatives may inhibit the intestinal absorption of dextrose.

Adverse Reactions: Concentrated dextrose solutions given by mouth may cause nausea and vomiting. tag_DosageDosage

Dosage: Glucose tolerance test: Adults (except pregnant women): 75 g. Children: 1.75 g/kg of ideal body weight. Pregnant women: 100 g or according to physician's advice. Serve cold.

Availability And Storage: 50 g: Each mL of orange-flavored, light orange liquid, contains: dextrose USP 166.6 mg. Bottles of 300 mL.

75 g: Each mL of orange-flavored, orange liquid, contains: dextrose USP 250 mg. Bottles of 300 mL.

100 g: Each mL of orange-flavored, dark orange liquid, contains: dextrose USP 333.3 mg. Bottles of 300 mL.
