ENFALAC LYTREN® Mead Johnson Oral Electrolyte Solution Electrolyte Replacement   Indications And Clinical Uses: Oral administration of electrolyte replacement for infants and children who have experienced electrolyte and fluid loss due to mild or moderate diarrhea and who do not require parenteral therapy. Contra-Indications: Do not use in the presence of severe, continuing diarrhea or other critical fluid losses requiring parenteral fluid therapy; in intractable vomiting, adynamic ileus, intestinal obstruction or perforated bowel; when renal function is depressed (anuria, oliguria) or homeostatic mechanisms are impaired. tag_DosageDosage Dosage: For infants and young children, the requirement should be calculated on the basis of body surface area. Estimated daily water requirements such as the following may be used as a general guide: For maintenance in illness: 1 500 mL/mof body surface area. For maintenance plus replacement of moderate losses: 2 400 mL/mof body surface area.
