Indications And Clinical Uses: As a systemic and urinary alkalinizer, gastric antacid.

Precautions: Consider the sodium content in administration to patients on sodium free diets. Chronic, prolonged use may produce metabolic alkalosis. tag_DosageDosage

Dosage And Administration: Adults: 1 to 2 teaspoonfuls of powder in a glass of cold water, 15 minutes to 2 hours after meals, or as directed by a physician.

Children: Gauge by weight: 18 kg, 1/4 adult dose or 0.98 to 1.95 g, given in one dose, in diluted solution, or as directed by a physician.

Availability And Storage: Each 3.9 g, 1 teaspoonful of powder when dissolved provides approximately: sodium bicarbonate 0.78 g, sodium citrate anhydrous 1.82 g. Each teaspoon of powder contains: sodium bicarbonate 2.34 g, citric acid anhydrous 1.19 g, sodium citrate hydrous 254 mg, calcium lactate pentahydrate 151 mg, sodium chloride 79 mg, monobasic sodium phosphate anhydrous 44 mg, magnesium sulfate 42 mg. Each 3.9 g of powder contains 30.46 mEq or mmol (700.6 mg) of sodium. Gluten-free. Bottles of 227 g.
