Indications And Clinical Uses: Cleansing Pads: hemorrhoidal, toilet tissue irritation, anal cleansing wipe, everyday hygiene of the outer vaginal area, final cleansing step at diaper changing time.

Ointment/Cream/Suppositories/Cooling Gel: To help shrink swelling of hemorrhoidal tissues caused by inflammation and to give prompt temporary relief from pain and itching. Preparation H is of considerable value as a lubricant in easing painful bowel movements by protecting and soothing the painful area.

Precautions: In case of bleeding or if irritation/condition persists, patient should be instructed to discontinue use and contact physician.

Dosage And Administration: Cleansing Pads: As a personal wipe – use as a final cleansing step after regular toilet tissue, or instead of. As a compress, hemorrhoid sufferers will get additional relief by using cleansing pads as a compress. Fold pad and hold in contact with inflamed anal tissue for 15 to 30 minutes. Repeat several times daily while inflammation lasts.

Ointment/Cream/Cooling Gel: Apply freely night, morning, after each bowel movement and whenever symptoms occur. Lubricate applicator before each application and thoroughly cleanse after use.

Suppositories: Remove wrapper and insert one suppository night, morning, after each bowel movement and whenever symptoms occur. Store at controlled room temperature in a cool place, but not over 26°C.

Availability And Storage: Cleansing Pads: Each pad contains: hamamelis water 50% and glycerin 10%. Nonmedicinal ingredients: DMDM hydantoin, paraben, octoxynol-9 and water. Jars of 40.

Cooling Gel: Each tube contains: phenylephrine HCI 0.25% w/w and hamamelis water 50% w/w in a nonstaining clear gel base. Nonmedicinal ingredients: edetate disodium, hydroxyethyl cellulose, parabens, propylene glycol, sodium citrate, sodium metabisulfite and water. Tubes of 25 and 50 g.

Cream: Each tube contains: yeast as a live cell derivative (Bio-Dyne: Skin Respiratory Factor) 1% and shark liver oil 3% in a nonstaining cream base. Nonmedicinal ingredients: butylated hydroxyanisole, cellulose, cetyl alcohol, citric acid, disodium edetate, glycerin, glyceryl monostearate, glycerol oleate, lanolin, parabens, propyl gallate, petrolatum, propylene glycol, simethicone emulsion, sodium benzoate, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol, water and xanthan gum. Tubes of 25 and 50 g.

Ointment: Each tube contains: yeast as a live cell derivative (Bio-Dyne: Skin Respiratory Factor) 1% and shark liver oil 3%. Nonmedicinal ingredients: chlorhexidine gluconate, falba, flavor, lanolin, mineral oil and petrolatum. Tubes of 25, 50 and 75 g.

Suppositories: Each 2.2 g individually wrapped suppository contains: yeast as a live cell derivative (Bio-Dyne: Skin Respiratory Factor) 22 mg (1%) and shark liver oil 66 mg (3%). Nonmedicinal ingredients: chlorhexidine gluconate, cocoa butter, D&C Red No. 33, D&C Yellow No. 10, FD&C Blue No. 1, FD&C Yellow No. 6, glycerin, polyethylene glycol, wax and witepsol. Packages of 12, 24, 36 and 48.
